1 May protest in Lyon

Workers' unions in Lyon called upon the public to join the annual 1 May protest on the occasion of International Workers' Day. The protest, which saw between 6 500 (according to the prefecture) and 10 000 people (according to the protest organisers) in the streets, led to some minor clashes between protestors and police forces, but ended in a festive atmosphere.
